Nine casinos, drawn from facts

New Westminster Casinos Online Compared

Each of the nine Metro Vancouver casinos is drawn here as a glyph, built only from its published facts. Drag one glyph onto another, or use the compare buttons, to see where the two differ.

By the Glyph WorkshopChecked October 7, 2026

Drag a glyph onto another or press compare, and the differences are listed below in words.

Legend

  • Rays: hours the floor is open, one ray per day
  • Dashed ray: floor hours are not published
  • Inner ring: hours of the live tables
  • Dot: a poker room
  • Dot: a hotel on site or adjoining
  • Dot: a racebook or simulcast racing
  • Dot: a SkyTrain station or bus exchange within 1 km

Rim positions: poker upper right, hotel lower right, racebook lower left, transit upper left. A hollow mark means the facts list none.

Filter by shape

Pick two glyphs to compare, and the differences between them will be listed here.

Reading a glyph: Starlight

Each glyph is drawn from published facts, and the New Westminster glyph shows how. All seven rays of Starlight Casino New Westminster run full length, because the casino is open round the clock, every day. Monday sits at the top and the other days follow clockwise. The inner ring is empty, because Starlight publishes no separate hours for its live tables.

Four dots sit at the rim, and two of them are filled. The poker dot marks a seven-table room: 24 hours Friday and Saturday, from 11 AM until late otherwise. No closing time is published for those days. The racebook dot marks off-track betting in MATCH Eatery & Public House. The hotel dot is hollow, and so is the transit dot: 22nd Street Station is 1.6 km away in a straight line.

The page Reading a glyph explains every mark, including dashed rays and hollow dots.

Starlight Casino New Westminster: Open day and night, all week, 365 days a year.

Marks no glyph needs

Some facts hold at every casino in this guide, so no glyph carries a mark for them. In B.C., nobody under 19 may gamble, and nobody under 19 may go into a gambling venue. From June 26, 2023, each person arriving at a B.C. casino has shown photo ID issued by a government at the entrance. Security runs a scan to compare it with the roster of people barred from entry, for example Game Break enrollees.

All nine list Encore Rewards as their loyalty programme. Smoking and vaping are banned inside, and within 6 m of doors, windows and air intakes. Each casino also has a GameSense Advisor for people experiencing harm from gambling. The page What all nine share sets these out in one place.

The nine glyphs, one line each

Online in BC

Online gambling in B.C. has the same age rule: 19 or older. PlayNow.com, operated by BCLC, is B.C.'s single legal online gambling site. On August 28, 2026, the IGCO stated that every other online gambling website admitting BC players operates illegally in the province.

Paid links on the home page carry the Ad mark, and each opens a privately run online casino. That operator is not PlayNow, carries no provincial licence and is not run by the province. No tie exists between it and BCLC, the IGCO or any casino covered here. PlayNow limits and Game Break do not apply there, and complaints cannot go to the IGCO.

Each of those links earns a commission for the site; the partner itself may be replaced. The Online note page sets out these points in full.

Questions readers ask

Which casinos are open 24 hours a day?

Four glyphs carry seven full rays: Parq, Grand Villa, Starlight and Cascades Langley are open around the clock. For the three days from Friday to Sunday, the Elements Casino Surrey floor runs a full 24 hours. To confirm holiday hours, consult each casino's own site.

Which casino is nearest to Starlight in a straight line?

Grand Villa Casino Burnaby is 8.6 km from Starlight Casino New Westminster. That number joins two map coordinates in a straight line and is not a distance by car or on foot.

Which casinos have a SkyTrain station or bus exchange within 1 km?

Four glyphs show a filled transit dot: Parq, Grand Villa, River Rock and Cascades Langley. Bridgeport Station is 0.2 km from River Rock, and the Langley Centre bus exchange is 0.1 km from Cascades Langley. The bus bays of Gilmore Station are 1.0 km from Grand Villa, and Stadium-Chinatown Station is 0.5 km from Parq.

What should I bring to the casino door?

Gambling in B.C. is for people 19 or older, and people under 19 may not enter gambling venues. Every visitor at the entrance of a B.C. casino hands over photo ID from a government. Security scans the card and searches for a match on the roster of people banned from entering.

Is this site a casino?

Being an independent guide, this site takes no bets, holds no accounts and is not a casino. Paid links, marked Ad, point from the home page to a single online casino partner. Each of those links earns the site a commission, and the partner behind them can change.
